Portraits: A dream gig. Combining portraiture and streetscapes in Battery Point, lutruwita/Tasmania.

Jane Teresa Anderson is a light. She shines bright on the outside as well as on the inside, and is full of warmth, wisdom, and effortlessly easy to be around. The conversation between us always flows, and so it was a no brainer to simply take a walk around her suburb for this shoot, the perfect location for our shared love of colour and history, and coincidentally the first suburb I also lived in when I first arrived in Hobart in 2008 – or perhaps another sign of the many synchronicities we so often individually and together experience, and what in fact brought us together at Alceme, a yoga studio in the CBD a couple of years ago?

The sun came out and brought warmth to our bodies on our walk, and about an hour an a half later – because we took it slow and had to fit in lots of talking too – we finished near her house where the sun hit the stairs just so, and where I made our favourite picture of the morning.

Such a treat to do a job for a friend who, apart from being extremely easy to capture in her natural beauty, just lets me do my documentary style-thing, yet also understands what is needed professionally.

I think we created and captured some beautiful moments that morning, a few of them showcased here, destined for her business’ website janeteresa.com – the headquarters for her 30 year career as Scientist, Dream Analyst, Writer, Podcaster, and Mentor.

A dream gig if ever there was one.
