The temperature drop during the first week of June in nipaluna/Hobart has reminded everyone yet again, that winter is here. As multicoloured leaves gather on the ground, and the surfaces of our autumn-warm faces turn cold in an instant when we step outside of our fireplace-heated homes and into the wind coming down from kunanyi/Mount Wellington, we enter the time of cosy rugs, warms cups of tea and steaming bowls of soups, family mountain hikes, board games, and movie nights with our cold bones but warm hearts. For without all the seasons, our bodies and souls would not feel and appreciate the full story of Earth’s life cycle, of which we are all a part.
Welcome, winter. I look forward to you.
