Inspired by the ever changing flora surrounding us througout each season here in Hobart, I am always captivated by the subtle, unassuming street flora weeds that frame our houses and line our streets. There is such a unique variety of shapes and colours – if you look.
Street weeds live the life of the girl next door, the bench warmer, this everyday, ordinary flora, and often take a back seat to the front singers; the blooming, bright roses and the scented, pretty varieties of lavender. Silent, gentle and I think, immensely beautiful in their own right, they sway in the autumn breeze, huddle in the winter cold, capture the drops of the spring rain, and nod happily in the summer rays.
This year twelve of these beauties – collected around South Hobart’s Rivulet during the month of November – have been shortlisted and given the chance to shine on the page as they travel with us through the four Tasmanian seasons, and twelve months of 2025.
Showcased on a studio backdrop of thick, soft padded, and completely scrumptious, organic water colour paper, the photographic images printed on matte A4 card (which folds out to double size A4 for wall hanging), have a fine art, illustrative quality to them, and have been designed so that they can be easily cut out and either fine art framed or re-used as greeting cards.

For the ones of you holidaying in the cold season, I hope you keep warm surrounded by live candles, soft scarfs, and people you love. For the ones of you holidaying in the warm season, I hope you keep chilled with fresh beach dips, cool drinks, and people you love.
I wish everyone near and far a safe and restful Christmas break. In my world, I look forward to a 2025 full of new creative adventures, happy moments with loved ones, and good health.
